John Draper Consulting helps organisations figure out how they will continue to succeed in a rapidly changing world. We do this by enabling business leaders to stand in the future and to identify the factors, trends and disruptors that they need to plan for to ensure a successful future. This is often a process that takes people out of their comfort zones but we don’t apologise for that - it is not easy to step away from the near-term, tactical, business-as-usual frame of reference and to think genuinely strategically.

Effective strategy is often thought of as just having good ideas, but it is the execution of ideas that differentiates the successful organisation. We use a process we call strategy mapping to convert ideas into execution. It identifies the people, processes, assets and systems that are critical to the successful implementation of a strategy and enables senior managers to realise the changes the strategy requires. We build a blueprint of the organisation that can be used to test different future state scenarios and to show the best fit settings for the organisation to achieve the desired outcomes.

We also help people be more successful by enabling them to stand in another place that can be challenging – in their customers’ shoes. Businesses succeed when their interests align with that of their customers and having a real understanding of customers' needs and interests is a prerequisite for success. We hear a lot about service design and there are many people holding themselves out as experts in this field. In practice, service design often is confused with interface design. Designing effective services (and products) is an holistic process that involves looking at all of the things that make up customer experiences.

We have a strong track record of success, having delivered real value for organisations in both the private and public sectors. We have worked on some very interesting assignments with some really clever people both here in New Zealand and overseas. We would be delighted to tell you about how we have helped some of our clients succeed.
